Foundations
Studies
It is possible to enroll in
all or some of the courses offered. The objective is to gain a basic
understanding of Rudolf Steiner’s work, both philosophically, artistically and
as applied in practical life. Participation does not commit a student to
continue into teacher development, or any other training for work inspired by
Rudolf Steiner. It is however an essential first step for entering subsequent
professional training in such work.
There are no other
requirements than a sincere interest in getting to know Rudolf Steiner’s
world-view, and his view of the human being as a being of spirit, soul, and
body.
Teacher
Development I
After a thorough
conversation with some Arcturus instructors and Core Group members, as well as
her or his mentor, a student may be accepted into the teacher development
program if it is agreed that the foundation studies have been successfully
completed and the basis for advanced work has been established. Previous work
in education as well as life experience will also be considered in this light.
The the format of the
course work itself will not differ substantially from that of past years,
however:
·
Students are
recommended to attend full time, if possible, that is the whole weekend during
the school year plus the preceding summer sessions.
Teacher
Development II
Students are accepted into
the second year of teacher development if they have successfully completed the
previous year’s course work, and if their instructors and the members of the
Core Group consider them ready for the more specific work in a Waldorf
classroom.
The
course work will be more demanding compared to previous years. The same
conditions apply to this year than to the first year of teacher training:
·
Students must
have successfully completed the first year of teacher development, which
includes some observation in Waldorf classes prior to at least 6 weeks of
practice teaching.
· We
recommend
attending full time
i.e., the whole weekend, during the school year plus the preceding Summer
Intensive

converted into promissory notes unless payment arrangements have been made.
